Why Recommend NYDA® express to Kill Head Lice?

Your customers will love NYDA® express because:

  • It kills lice and eggs in 10 minutes: only 1 application required*
  • It’s neurotoxic pesticide-free: no burning or harsh chemical smells
  • It’s scientifically proven: dual-action dimethicone suffocates lice at every stage of the life cycle
  • It’s available in a family value pack with a comb: suitable for the whole family, including infants and pregnant women.

Traditional pesticides kill head lice by targeting the nervous system, but unhatched eggs haven’t developed a nervous system yet.

However, all lice need to breathe. That’s why NYDA® express uses dual dimethicones (silicone oils) to deeply penetrate the breathing holes of eggs and adult lice and stop them from breathing.

This innovative suffocation technique is scientifically proven to kill head lice at all stages of the life cycle and stop an infestation in its tracks.

*We recommend checking hair again 8-10 days after treatment. If the treatment solution does not completely cover all hair, some eggs may not be killed and may hatch up to 7-8 days later. If any live head lice are detected, repeat treatment and check hair again in a further 8-10 days. For external use on unbroken skin only.  Always read the instructions for use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does NYDA® express Require A Second Treatment?

If the initial treatment does not completely cover all hair, some eggs may not be killed and may hatch 7-8 days later. As such, we recommend checking the hair again 8-10 days after treatment. If any live lice are found, repeat treatment and check hair again in a further 8-10 days. If no live lice are found, repeat treatment is not necessary.

What Are The Considerations For Using NYDA® express On Coloured Hair?

The dimethicones in NYDA®  express are potentially flammable, similar to a hairspray or perfume. However, dimethicones only ignite when they come into contact with an open flame.

To prevent possible accidents, the flammability of NYDA® express and the correct handling of the product is as follows: “Because some ingredients are flammable, NYDA® express may not be used in the presence of an open flame or incandescent objects. Keep NYDA® express away from heat and ignition sources and do not smoke during treatment.”

What Are The Considerations For Using NYDA® express On Coloured Hair?

Although there is a possibility that coloured hair may change or the durability of the colour may be shortened, since NYDA® express was introduced to the market in 2006, there have been no reported problems associated with coloured hair.

As a precaution, users with coloured hair should wait two days after treatment to recolour as the main components of NYDA® express should be washing out by then.

Why Should NYDA® express Be Applied To Dry Hair?

NYDA® express eliminates headlice and their eggs by spreading over the scalp and deeply penetrating the airways of the lice. This effectively closes the airways and suffocates them.

Since water has a higher surface tension than NYDA®, it is not able to penetrate the respiratory system of the headlice. If NYDA® express is applied to wet hair, the product dilutes and this restricts successful treatment.

I Can Still See Eggs Attached to The Hair, Did The Treatment Work?

Head lice attach their eggs to the base of hair follicles with a strong “glue” that doesn’t dissolve with treatment, even though the embryo inside is dead.

To help remove dead eggs, comb the hair thoroughly using a fine-tooth lice comb.

Who Can Use NYDA® express?

NYDA® express is suitable for all ages, including infants and pregnant women.

Always talk to your health professional before using any medicine or medical device during pregnancy.

Why Does NYDA® express Suffocate Lice and Their Eggs?

Pesticide treatments kill head lice by attacking the louse’s nervous system. However, head lice don’t develop a nervous system until they hatch.

Conversely, all head lice need to breathe.

That’s why NYDA® express uses two types of dimethicone silicones to block the airways and suffocate head lice, killing them at all stages of the life cycle (including eggs), s0 there’s no repeat treatment necessary*!
